The Project

Clients creating a premiere domestic staffing solutions company needed a logo for their brand that could be used for both web and print. They wanted their logo to be timeless-yet-modern and include a tree with roots as “Bija” means “seed” in Sanskrit.

Preliminary Font Generation

Using the stylistic guidelines of “timeless” and “modern”, I gathered a collection of multiple fonts that fell under these categories and paired 5 combinations together to show my clients. While they liked the pairings, they eventually chose a font they found prior to working with me and requested I used the font moving forward in the logo design.

Preliminary Sketches

To generate ideas for the “tree” aspect of the logo, I drew 50 sketches of modern-looking trees and other flowers and plants. From there I chose the top 12 to present to my clients. I asked them to choose between 2-3 of the sketches for me to finalize in a digital form.

  • Logo #1

  • Logo #2

  • Logo #3

2nd Round Digital Drafts

My clients liked the initial 3 designs and wanted me to combine elements of design #2 and design #3 and add more tree roots to the design. I did as asked and added the type element of the logo to the design. They also wanted me to try including a seed in the type so I presented them drafts of both.

Final Design:

After consulting with each other and with me, my clients decided that they wanted to get rid of the tree aspect of the logo and add a small seed to the type instead. I created the final design for them, which they absolutely loved. I then created the logo in 3 different sizes, including a large one for print.
